Air China Flight CA965 to Frankfurt Germany departed from Beijing Capital on April 22nd  at 2:30 am Beijing time. This 10-day European investment trip, led by Lu Yang, deputy secretary of the Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone Working Committee and executive deputy director of the Management Committee and deputy secretary of Chengyang Party Committee, covering Germany, Belgium, and Italy, was officially launched.

The first stop of the visit to Europe is Germany which is known as the “locomotive of the European economy”. During the 4-day visit, the Investment Promotion Team visited 5 companies including Starneth, Fresenius, Hexconn, Recaro, Bosch and participated in activities such as the Qingdao-Germany Cooperation Exchange Conference on Economic, Trade, Cultural and Tourism .

The second stop is Belgium which is known for its highly developed industry. During this visit to Belgium, the Promotion Team visited Solvay Group headquartered in Brussels to promote more equipment updates and technological improvements of its factories in China.

The third stop of the visit is Italy which is the fourth largest economy in Europe and the eighth largest economy in the world, as well as one of the European countries with the closest exchanges and cooperation with Qingdao. During their stay in Italy, the Investment Promotion Team visited institutions and enterprises such as the China-Italy Youth Association, Bitron, and Epta, actively introducing the Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

This trip to Europe not only brought back memories with “old friends”, but also created more encounters with "new friends". This visit to Fortune Global 500 companies Starneth and Fresenius is the expansion of the "new circle" of the Team. By leveraging the advantages of Fresenius in technology and brand, Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone will further achieve industrial upgrading; The communication and cooperation with Starneth also demonstrated the determination of Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build the "Eye of Qingdao" into a world-renowned city landmark.

Two days before the departure to Europe, the other Investment Promotion Team led by Wang Bo, a member of the Standing Committee of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, and secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, had already taken a flight and embarked on a journey to Hong Kong for investment promotion. In addition to participating in industry forums and communicating with multiple universities in Hong Kong on cooperation which brings together firms, universities, and research institutes, the Team also went to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to discuss with Shangwei High tech Co., Ltd. and promote cooperation between the enterprise and Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It can be foreseen that deepening cooperation with Hong Kong universities and enterprises in the new industry track of bio-pharmaceuticals and medical devices will have an important effects on the bio-pharmaceutical and medical device industry chain in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and improve the overall competitiveness of Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in this industry.
